Astroscale Named in TIME’s List of 100 Most Influential Companies
Tokyo, Japan, Mar. 30, 2022 – Astroscale Holdings Inc. (“Astroscale”), the market leader in satellite servicing and long-term orbital sustainability across all orbits, today announced it has been named in the second annual TIME100 Most Influential Companies list — an extension of the TIME100 list of the world’s most influential people — that highlights 100 companies making an extraordinary impact around the world.
“We are very excited and honored to be included in the TIME100 list — it reflects the dedication of our incredible global team and our commitment to our vision to make space sustainable for the benefit of future generations,” said Nobu Okada, Founder & CEO of Astroscale. “We’ve made tremendous strides since our inception in 2013, and we’re on track to deliver commercial satellite services globally and make on-orbit servicing a routine activity by 2030.”
To assemble the list, TIME solicited nominations from every sector, ranging from health care and entertainment to transportation and technology, from TIME’s team of editors and correspondents around the world, as well as from industry experts. Then, TIME editors evaluated each nominee on key factors, including relevance, impact, innovation, leadership and success.
Astroscale was recognized for its innovative technologies to capture and remove debris from orbit, as being demonstrated by its End-of-Life Services by Astroscale-demonstration (ELSA-d) mission and universal docking plate, which the company hopes will become standard fitment on all future low Earth orbit satellites.
The full TIME100 Companies list will be featured in the April 11/April 18, 2022, double issue of TIME, available on newsstands beginning Friday, April 1.
