Astroscale to Exhibit at Society 5.0 Science Exhibition
Astroscale will be take part in the Society 5.0 Science Exhibition, hosted by the Cabinet Office, Government of Japan, from Thursday, July 15 to Monday, July 19, 2021. This exhibition in the first year of the Japanese government’s “The 6th Science, Technology, and Innovation Basic Plan” with a goal of conveying the fun and importance of science and technology, with over 200 exhibits related to Society 5.0, SIP2, ImPACT3, and innovations from national research institutes.
Astroscale will showcase its range of innovative and scalable solutions across the spectrum of on-orbit servicing, including life extension, in situ space situational awareness, end of life, and active debris removal, to create sustainable space systems and mitigate the growing and hazardous buildup of debris in space. A half-scale model of the company’s End-of-Life Services by Astroscale-demonstration (ELSA-d) which is currently in orbit will be on display.

Society 5.0 will exhibit other world-class space technologies from Japan, including models of the International Space Station and Japanese Experiment Module “Kibo”, as well as the actual Hayabusa 2 return capsule and thruster.
