About Astroscale in the UK

The UK has played a key role in Astroscale's growth. In 2017, it became the first country to support and license Astroscale's ELSA-d mission, recognising the value of in-orbit servicing and the capability that underpins it - Rendezvous and Proximity Operations (RPO). This positioned the UK as a strategic base for Astroscale, attracting investment and building strong ties with the UK Space Agency, European Space Agency, UK Space Command, and Ministry of Defence.

Astroscale UK now employs nearly 250 people at its Harwell Campus site, leading spacecraft design, manufacturing, and missions like ELSA-M, which is a UK and world first mission to remove active debris from orbit and carry the Astra Carta Seal. Astroscale helps keep the UK at the forefront of space sustainability and operations.

Together we can create an in-orbit economy and high-value jobs that will ensure space remains safe and sustainable for future generations.

Suppliers and Partners

Long before anything reaches orbit, spacecraft are brought to life across teams, companies, and disciplines. At Astroscale UK, our missions are shaped by a network of suppliers across the UK and Europe. Engineers, technicians, and specialists working on everything from propulsion and power to testing, software, and operations.
