アストロスケール社は、九州大学花田研究室のコンセプトをベースとする微⼩デブリ計測衛星IDEA-1(イデア･ワン)を2016年後半に打ち上げる。本ミッションは、微⼩デブリ環境モデルを動的に構築することにより、 宇宙機の防護設計や衝突被害を最⼩化するための運用といったデブリ対策を適切に⾏うことを目的としている。
