Astroscale Japan Selected by Government of Japan for J-Startup Impact Program

Tokyo, Japan, Oct. 6, 2023 – Astroscale Japan Inc. (“Astroscale Japan”), a subsidiary of Astroscale Holdings Inc. (“Astroscale”), today announced it has been selected by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (“METI”) for its J-Startup Impact program for its potential to lead innovation in Japan while fulfilling a vision that solves a societal issue.
“Astroscale is indeed making a huge impact, not only in Japan but globally, by creating a sustainable future in space through on-orbit servicing,” said Eddie Kato, President and Managing Director of Astroscale Japan. “As we continue to lead the sector, we will strive to make on-orbit servicing routine services by 2030 a reality.”
J-Startup, a startup development program run by METI, established its J-Startup Impact program in July 2023 which is aimed at raising awareness and building momentum for Japanese startups that are making a positive impact on society by solving societal issues and achieving economic growth. The program also aims to promote business growth by providing financial assistance through public-private partnerships.
